Independence Day News and Updates: Wine Tasting, Salvation Army Benefit, and More

Just a reminder that our Wine Tasting event is taking place this coming Saturday, July 8th, out on the Caddyshak Bar & Grill’s patio and pergola area (weather permitting; if we get rain, we will move into the dining room and the bar). Guests will have the chance to sample a variety of different red and white wines, and hors d’oeuvres will be served, as well. Entry per person is $20, which will entitle you to try up to 4 wines out of the following 9 selections:

• Tiki Tonga Draft/House Sangria
• Rheinhessen Riesling
• Candoni Pinot Grigio
• Butterfield Station Chardonnay
• Sileni Estates Sauvignon Blanc
• Mark West Black Pinot Noir
• Campus Oaks Old Vine Zinfandel
• Butterfield Station Cabernet Sauvignon
• Casa Smith Barbera

The event will run from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. We are encouraging those interested in attending to RSVP by Friday, July 7th, but we’re not going to turn away walk-ins on the 8th. Call the Pro Shop at (715) 634-2760 to sign up or to get more information.

Also, we wanted to bring our upcoming Salvation Army Golf Benefit to your attention. It will take place on Friday, July 14th, with a shotgun start at 12:00pm. The event will be a scramble format, and the proceeds this year will go to Elizabeth Home of Hope to aid their efforts in helping the homeless. The cost to enter the event is $75 per person, which includes golf, door prizes, and dinner.

For more information, contact the Pro Shop.

Above all, have a safe and happy Independence Day! Enjoy the fireworks display put on by the Hayward Civic Club tonight at 10:00pm. Prime viewing areas are available in the field behind the Primary and Intermediate Schools, and the Caddyshak Bar and patio seating area will also be open for possibly the best views of the show anywhere!
